about

I ran a bass guitar through an effects pedal and it resulted in a big, brash, synth-sounding mess. I loved it so much, I used it for this song. Originally, the idea for this song came from the Peter, Bjorn, and John song called “Up Against the Wall.” I admired the way that this song slowly introduced layers of music, the sparse lyrics, and the long, extended, driving ending. I stole these ideas and used them for this song.

lyrics

I opened up my door
And there you were
A pale blue nothing
With your saving grace

Divide it up
Divide it up

People in shag
And love in drag
Inverse and half formed
We are all after the fact

Divide it up
Divide it up

about

Jesus on the Moon Puyallup, Washington

Jesus on the Moon is a collection of lo-fi songs I've been recording in basements, garages, and bedrooms since 2005. Recently, Derek Reed joined the ranks and, with the help of a drum machine, we've started to bring the songs to the stage.
