I've always been fascinated with the way that particular moments can have certain indescribable feelings or states of mind associated with them that defy description. Now and then, something will trigger this feeling that you'd thought was long forgotten. This song describes a particular moment in time for me, a moment that at the time wasn't really significant in any way. It was late fall and I was waiting for the school bus. I think I was in maybe 7th grade or so. I lived in the country, on a dirt road. Every morning, I walked down my driveway to the bus stop. My driveway was about a quarter of a mile long or so. It was a crisp fall morning, and the sun was coming up but not yet above the trees. Leaves were whipping across the ground. I remember looking up and down the road; there were no houses in sight, and not a single car. It was silent, except for the wind in the trees and the birds chirping. It was just a simple moment of calm and peace, something I didn't think I'd remember, before I got onto the bus and started a day of school.
